19th November 2007: Mini Basketball
Hucknall Hotshots hosted Ilkeston Outlaws for an evening of mini basketball at Hucknall Leisure Centre. The opposition brought plenty of support adding to the atmosphere of an event which provided the opportunity for the younger players to participate under 'match' conditions with referees, scorers and timed quarters. Although comforably beaten by their more experienced Derbyshire neighbours, the 'first session' gave a creditable performance and with a little more luck under the basket, scores could have been closer.
The second half of the evening brought on the older 'Hotshots' players and was more keenly contested. On balance, Hucknall emerged narrowly ahead with a highlight being a 'buzzer beating' half court basket to seal the final game
Thanks to everyone who helped make the event a success, particularly the parents and coaches who brought the visiting teams.
