Chairman's Report (2005/6)

With the end of the winter leagues the Club can be proud of all the teams that have worked so hard in all their games. The under fourteens, the Hornets, were runners up in the Sherwood Youth League and the under sixteenís were third in the play-offs in the Sherwood Youth League. The under eighteens, the Hurricanes, playing their first season in the Sherwood League finished fifth. The minisís, played well in the Nottís Open Mini League through out the season but were held back because of a shortage of girls, which automatically put them at a disadvantage in the points allocation. I would like to thank all the parents and guardians of the Clubs members for getting them to the games, often at very inconvenient times and supporting at the games. I am sure that the coaches and team managers will make similar statements.

I wish to thank all those who have raised money or sponsored the Club in this past year. Karen Bullock, Adam Chambers, Ben Sturrock, Ryan Jackson Sam Richards and Max Osborne all ran in the Robin Hood Fun Run last September and raised a large sum of money for the Club. I know how much commitment, training and sheer determination went into training for this event, for which, I, on behalf of the Club, wish to say thank you. The Club received a donation from the Hucknall Fire and Rescue Station, through Mr and Mrs Richards, (Samís mum and dad). Truss Tech Ltd have sponsored the awards for the Lord Byron game in July. Thanks go to Mr and Mrs Perkins.

The Monday training sessions are now running well and support for them is generally very good although the under 18ís session is sparse sometimes mainly due to revision for exams.
